Vinny Curry, who helped Philadelphia win Super Bowl LII, will retire as an Eagle when the Birds host the Washington Commanders Thursday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The 36-year-old defensive end Curry will serve as an honorary captain at Thursday's game as he retires from the NFL.

Marshall University Hall of Famer and Thundering Herd Legend Vinny Curry’s professional football career came full circle Thursday as the Super Bowl champion retired as a Philidelphia Eagle, serving as an honorary captain for the Eagles’ game against the Washington Commanders.

Super Bowl champion Vinny Curry will officially retire as a member of the Eagles and will serve as an honorary captain on Thursday night against the Commanders. Curry, 36, played eight of his 11 NFL seasons with the Eagles, who drafted him in the second round out of Marshall back in 2012.

Vin Curry has already started a career in the media, and now the veteran pass rusher is set to retire as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. A New Jersey native, Curry was a second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He worked his way into a critical role on the Super Bowl-winning roster.

Following a one-year stop in Tampa Bay, Curry returned to Philly for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. His 41 tackles for loss and 85 QB hits rank in the top-10 in franchise history, so it’s only fitting that he’ll sign an honorary contract to finish his career with the Eagles.
