Air India’s transformation, described by CEO Campbell Wilson as a "five-day Test match," is making progress. The airline has hired 9,000 staff, cutting the average employee age from 54 to 34, and plans to add 100 aircraft by 2027.

The revival of Air India, "the Everest of corporate turnarounds", is "not a T20 match but a five-day one currently at lunch on day three".

Out of the total 50 white tail Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, at least 35 have joined the fleet. These planes are being operated by Air India Express.
