Former Jackson State and Detroit Lions star defensive end James Houston has found a new home in the NFL. The Lions cut the three-year veteran on Tuesday but he did not make it through waivers. According to the NFL transaction wire, Houston was claimed by the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday and is now set to join their 53-man roster.

The Detroit Lions have parted with young edge rusher James Houston. While the timing is a bit of a surprise, the move itself is not. Houston, 26, was Detroit's sixth-round pick out of Jackson State in 2022 and burst onto the scene as a rookie.
