Four Legislature races and one state Supreme Court race were not certified by the North Carolina State Board of Elections on Tuesday. Notably, the state’s sole Supreme Court race between Democratic incumbent Allison Riggs and Republican challenger Jefferson Griffin is one of those currently under both recount and protest.

On Tuesday, the embattled North Carolina State Board of Elections is scheduled to certify the 2024 election. The majority of the election results from 2,658 precincts across the state are expected to be approved,

The North Carolina Elections Board has certified the results from the November election. More than 5.7 million voters were counted, which is a 73% turnout. However, 10 races are going to a recount. The 2024 General Election results are official after the state's Canvass Board met on Nov. 26, 2024 and certified the election in Santa Fe.

The Justice Department is getting involved in a lawsuit brought by the Republican Party against the North Carolina Board of Elections. According to Democracy Docket, the RNC is disputing the board's guidance about absentee ballots that are not in a sealed return envelope.
