Despite playing the lead role in 'Wicked,' fans are disappointed to learn that Cynthia Erivo is getting paid millions less than her costars.

The rumor about Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s “Wicked” paychecks has been cleared up. It was reported online that Grande, 31, was paid $15 million to star as Glinda the Good Witch in the two-part movie musical, while Erivo, 37, only got $1 million to play Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.

The blockbuster adaptation of the much-loved Broadway musical - which itself is centred on the lives of characters made famous in the original 1939 Wizard of Oz movie, Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch - is said to have racked up a staggering $112 million within the handful of days it has been in cinemas.
