The 1 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025, tropics advisory from the National Hurricane Center in Miami shows a tropical system with formation possible over the next 48 hours or within seven days at 70 percent.

Florida appears to be in for a wet weekend, regardless of whether a formal tropical depression or storm develops. Forecasters have upped the chances that a tropical system could form over North Florida in the next week, from 20% earlier in the week to 40% by Wednesday morning.
