Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara will re-enter the NCAA transfer portal and petition the NCAA for a seventh season of eligibility, ESPN reported Wednesday.

While much of the college football world celebrates early signing day, Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara announced via social media his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal this offseason as a graduate transfer.

The Cade McNamara era at Iowa, which began with so much hope, failed to deliver on that and now has come to a close.

On Wednesday, On3's Pete Nakos reported that Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback Cade McNamara has entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the program. This comes following his initial transfer from the Michigan Wolverines before the 2023 season.

Cade McNamara is looking for a third school to continue his college football career.
