The Washington Commanders celebrated a little too hard for Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles' liking weeks before the 2025 NFC Championship game.

Saquon Barkley’s services apparently weren’t desired by every club in the NFC East. When recently discussing his free agency experience last March, when he left the Giants for the rival Eagles, the newly minted Super Bowl champion revealed the teams’ division rivals didn’t pursue him.

In Super Bowl LIX, Barkley ran for 57 yards to finish the year with 2,504 rushing yards, breaking Terrell Davis' 26-year-old single-season record. The performance capped one of the most dominant campaigns by a running back in league history -- and cemented Barkley as the engine of Philly's title run.
